Noisy f@@king Langster 06 chain!

I recently upgraded my chain from an old KMC Z-510HX to a izumi eco and ever since i have had a stupid amount of chain noise. Before my ride was ultra quite? I've tried shed loads of oil, different tensions...nothing seems to work. Both chains are 1/2 1/8 and all the components on my bike are 1/8..any ideas????

new chain might need just a bit of time to bed in with old cogs, they will have worn with the old chain

izumi chains are loud

my guess, try to remove all the grease as well as possible as my izumi chain had this sticky grease on it in the first place, re lube and see if it is quieter

there are other threads about loud izumis

also the title of the thread is wrong, since the chain is new the bike is somewhat irrelevant from whether or not it is a noisy chain

Swap cog and chain at the same time or use different chain.
Wear earmuffs.

Flickwg, thanks for the tips. I only put Langster in the title as i thought someone might suggest something to do with chain lines and thought it might be relevant. Think i might find a different chain...any recommendations..preferable a quite one!

never never wipe off factory chainlube, i find this is the bestest stuff and tends to last the longest.

KMC i find are usually loud, although my new izumi is still too new to notice.

I'm practically deaf and with no hearing aid... and it still sounds like a tractor.

Ah, you're deaf too. Splendid. Then we can sit in the corner at the bar and grunt at each other safe in the knowledge that we could never say anything out of place as we wouldn't be able to hear each other.

As Hippy says, you should get a new cog if you're changing chain. I've had this happen to me before and the chain made a fucking racket. New cog and viola! Silent (ish - it's also an Izumi chain).

Though, I think the silence thing is overrated anyway.

Would rather not replace my cog as i splashed out on a E.A.I superstar. Think i might just go for a hkk vertex chain although i have an old spare nickel plated chain i could use......whats the benefit of nickel plating?
